FL439 Zinnia 'Scarlet Flame'
Showy annual, super-fast growing flowers reaching 90cm (35in) tall. Sets large, whole, 5-7cm (1.9-2.7in) wide blossoms that are beautiful deep red color. Makes brilliant cut flowers, has long vase life. Gives an especially decorative touch to flower gardens. Matures in 75-80 days. One of the easiest annual flowers to grow, growing fast and blooming heavily.
Growing: Indoors/outdoors.
Planting Season: Spring, direct sow after the danger of the last frost is gone. Year-round in warm climates avoiding the rainy season.
Soil: Adaptable to a wide variety of soils, yet prefers light, fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil at a pH of 5.5-7.5.
Sowing Depth: 1/4in (0.5cm) deep. Zinnias do not like to be transplanted, so direct seeding is recommended.
Spacing: 10-24in (25-61cm) apart.
Light: Full sun.
Watering: Regularly to make sure the soil is moist yet avoid over-watering.
Germination: 24-28C within 7-20 days.
